Cathel Brown
Cathel was born in the Friendship Community, graduated from Apex Consolidated High School and attended Shaw University, majoring in Business Administration.
Cathel has lived in Ohio, California and New York before returning to NC in 1998. She is blessed with a son, daughter-in-law and three wonderful grandchildren; they reside in New Jersey.
She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2011. Her employment with the Postal Service was in the Marketing Department, as a Sales Representative, covering the New York City and Bronx areas and later as Manager, Consumer Affairs & Claims Departments. Her duties involved: responding to customers’ complaints, assessment of company policies, liaison for Congressional members involving Postal issues, spokesperson to consumer groups on identity theft and mail fraud.
Cathel is a faithful member of Greater Christian Chapel Church on Humie Olive Rd., serving as Church Clerk, Trustee and Council member.
Also, she is Membership Chairperson for the Raleigh/Apex Branch NAACP.
Cathel enjoys attending live performances (drama or musical), movies, creating floral arrangements and interior decorating.
